Frequently asked questions
- What is Jap Kasai (Dragon Tendon massage)?
- Jap Kasai is a traditional Thai therapeutic massage that works on the tendons of the lower abdomen, groin area and legs to relax the body and support local circulation. It is a wellness experience, not a medical treatment, and it does not replace seeing a doctor.
- What is Phoenix Tendon massage?
- Phoenix Tendon is the version for women, focusing on the abdomen, lower back and legs. At Holi it is performed only by senior female therapists wearing disposable gloves.
- How is it different from a regular Thai massage?
- A regular Thai massage focuses on full-body stretching and acupressure. Jap Kasai adds a dedicated technique for the abdominal and groin tendons after the full-body preparation, so sessions are longer and more detailed.
- How long does it take and how much does it cost?
- Jap Kasai Standard is 90 minutes for 2,500 THB, Master is 120 minutes for 4,200 THB, and Grand Master is 140 minutes for 6,900 THB. Phoenix Tendon is 120 minutes for 4,200 THB. Prices are the same at every branch, with no hidden charges and no compulsory tips.
- Who should not have Jap Kasai?
- It is not suitable for people with testicular or epididymal inflammation, varicocele, acute prostatitis, hernia, pelvic tumors, urinary tract infection, or unhealed surgery. Please tell your therapist if you have high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes. Pregnant women should not have Phoenix Tendon. Every guest fills in a health questionnaire first. If you have lasting pain, difficulty urinating or fever afterwards, please see a doctor.
- Are the therapists qualified?
- Our therapists hold massage certificates recognized by the Thai Ministry of Public Health and must complete Holi's 1,000-hour in-house Jap Kasai training and pass an assessment before working. Standard sessions are given by therapists with 10+ years of experience, Master by 15+ years, Grand Master by 20+ years.
- Is Holi a licensed business?
- Yes. Every branch holds a Health Establishment license issued by the Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health, under the Health Establishment Act B.E. 2559. Holi offers therapeutic traditional massage only and provides no sexual services of any kind.
- What happens during a session?
- Health questionnaire, shower and change, full-body and abdominal preparation, the core technique, head relaxation, then tea and rest. You can shower again afterwards.
